YouTube & the holidays (catching up)
haven’t written lately and just felt the blogging spirit nudging me. i ordered a wreath from one of my coworkers to help support his son’s boy scout troup. i love the smell of the fresh pine. the other day i found this yankee candle with a christmas wreath scent. omg! i left the room for a min and when i came back i was hit by this smell like the wreath i have on the front door to my apartment. awesome! this is my 1st christmas living in my own place. alone. it is interesting to say the least, but so far i am enjoying it. bought a few battery operated candles for my windows, got decorations all over the apartment, hung a wreath on my door, and got christmas lights in the landing and down the staircase that leads to my 2nd floor apartment. sweet! now im uploading a new holiday play list to my ipod and am loving the random christmas carol on tv and the radio. not ready for constant playback yet though, and i haven’t even started my holiday shopping. cards will get sent out this weekend though. we had a ton of rain the past few days and all i could think of was how much snow that would have been. i traded in my vw gti and bought a 2008 jeep wrangler. im dying to play with it in the snow! i found, in my desperation to stay awake at work last night, through wikianswers that 1 inch of rain is about 10 inches of snow, 16 inches dry powder or 5 inches of wet slush. the average being about 10. if that was snow instead of rain the past few days we’d have a good 3ft+ of snow. doh! i was all set to go out tonight and now with the cold and the wind, im slowly loosing motivation. i just opened a bottle of honig’s sauv blanc and am relaxing for a while. see what mood strikes. have a holiday blood drive and firehouse party tomorrow so it will be a long day. staying in isn’t necessarily a bad thing tonight. i wonder what happened to the holiday spirit i had when i was growing up. even from high school and college. is it the stress of living on my own? still being single? away from close friends? not sure… but i have noticed that a lot of people these days either ooze holiday cheer or scream scrooge. i hope to never hit the scroog extreme. in my wanderings online i came across a set of gap commercials for the holidays. check them out and have fun with them. a great take on a old tradition.
and if for what ever reason i don’t get back on here i hope you all have a merry , and wish you well in what ever celebrations you partake in.
