fire school…

fire 1&2 class - propane tank fires

this has been my life for the past 5 months.  i took a combined fire 1, fire 2, hazmat awareness, and hazmat operations class.  it was brutal, exhausting, rewarding, and fun.  i learned alot about firefighting as well as myself.  firefighting is mentally challenging as much as it is physical.  i was the only girl in the class, which had its pros and it’s cons, but i did it.  i need to work on my strength a bit and get into better shape at the gym, but i did it!  i recently passed my practical exam and my written exam is tomorrow (monday) night.  i feel nervous, but ready.

other than fire school, i’ve been enjoying the warmer weather and a new jeep.  riding around with the top down or at least the windows off is a lot of fun.  dispatch has its on cycles of insanity and is currently in full swing.  ugh…  wouldnt be work with out some chaos.  lol!  if im not at work im usually at the fire house.  which can be a full time job on its own some days.  i bought a new camera, a nikon d60, so i hope to work more on photography this summer and have some new posts to share.  other than that things have been going well.  good health, addicted to coffee and my new wii (thanks to an awesome boyfriend), and some trips coming up this summer like hiking in the berkshires and a flight out to london, england for a wedding.

for now i should go back to studying before i lose all motivation….  on a final side note, its raning.  again.  think im going to need a snorkel for my jeep!
